The Friendship Garden at RHS Chelsea

Jon and James Wheatley’s Friendship Garden at the 2024 RHS Chelsea Flower Show marked the 60th anniversary of Britain in Bloom. Designed to celebrate the bonds formed through community gardening, the garden featured vibrant wildflowers, alliums, and daisies surrounding a central seating area. It highlighted the positive impact of communal green spaces on both people and the planet.

Inspired by this Chelsea exhibit, elements of the garden were reimagined for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. The Hampton Court version expanded on the theme, incorporating native and British-grown plants alongside beehives to promote biodiversity. This continuation underscored the enduring influence of community gardening initiatives.
